    Could also be the alternator, AC pump, or tensioner. Removing the drive belt will confirm that it's either of the, but won't help you single out the issue.

    Put in the gearbox with no LSD and hope that it does actually work - I'd use this option as Plan B Put in the second gearbox if the Gripper can be easily moved and dropped in - It's not a difficult job, but doing it right means new diff bearings and shimming it correctly to get the preload...

    Vacuum leaks are not common. You can try spraying brake cleaner around the pipes. If there’s a leak, the revs will change. I already advised you that it is likely to be your lambda sensor.

    I you’re 15 years too late to be asking Renault to step in and sort it. To me, it seems like you have 2 viable options. 1, learn how to drive around it 2, get an aftermarket remap

    You'll know. They do get progressively worse, to the point where they refuse to change gear quickly. All depends on use and how you drive really.

    You can check to see if the voltage is pulsing, but that doesn’t really tell you anything.

    Mine was lambda sensor when it started running rough on idle. There were no codes.
