    Glacier White 200 Cup

The PMS top mounts are now on the car. Ethan performed what looked like open heart surgery on the car to remove part of the lip on the strut towers so that the PMS top mounts had a full range of movement. The bare metal was sprayed with some primer to cover it up. The top mount bolts are...

I have now sorted out the airbag light. All of the airbags have been removed from the car including the curtain airbags and passenger side dashboard airbag. Those changes caused the airbag light to come back on on the dashboard. We had also removed the airbag switch which sits on the...

Alex at AW Motorworks helped us work out how to fit PMS top mounts to Gaz Gold front suspension. PMS sells the top mounts with spacers sized 20mm or 22mm and on their web site they give options for different suspension manufacturers, but not Gaz. We have now discovered that Gaz use different...

I have still got the drivers lateral sensor and passenger lateral sensor coded in to my car. If I configure CLIP to say that the car is "without" those sensors I get an open circuit error.

Yes, I think it was. This is the switch. This is the other side of the switch,

Here is a question for people who have stripped their cars. I have dusted off my Windows 7 laptop and connected CLIP to see if I could get rid of the airbag light on the dashboard. I managed to guess my way through CLIP again and dealt with nearly all of the errors causing the dashboard airbag...

    Glacier White 200 Cup

The car has now been stripped of anything that was easy to pull off or remove. Some of the internal metal brackets have been removed but not all of them. There is a lot of excess wiring in the car. The one thing that we have kept in the car is the boot carpet so that when we put track day...

2006 Deep Black Track Shed BudgetBoltOnBuild

It looks like you had a great time form the videos. I have never been to Knockhill but I have driven past it twice in the past 12 months. Knockhill is on my "to do list" and if I ever get a tow vehicle it might make doing Knockhill more realistic. Your Direzzas look proper knackered.

    Hard to select gears

The PMS shifter uses a metal linkage instead of gear cables. The synchros are the problem and rushing them at higher revs will cause them to wear faster. Rev matching on gear changes may help with some mechanical sympathy for the gearbox.

    Hard to select gears

I have got a ZPO and I don't think that it has made any difference to the longevity of the gearbox. It is an expensive long stick, which looks very nice, but uses the same gear cables to change gear. I think of Clio gearboxes a but like timing belts these days - like @RSRowe suggested. If you...

    Hard to select gears

A 200 gearbox will do the same. It is a known weak spot for the car. You could give it regular gearbox oil changes to prolong it's life, but that will only have a small impact.

The strip down is making steady progress. Ethan has now removed most of the interior so that he could remove the front carpets, sound deadening and the foam that goes all the way under the dash. It all looks a right state now but once it goes back in it will look good, even if it does...

    Silverstone Edition 200 - AST 5100

I’m not sure what the solution is. I often upload images which are about 1mb each rather than the original photo. It is an old habit I have from living with a terrible internet connection - thankfully I have 1gb speeds now.

197 from Portugal - starter kit

I would go for a set of 17 inch wheels as the suspension can compress a lot on track days and rub your front arches/front bumper. Also, it would be a good idea to think about some brake ducts so that you have some extra brake cooling.

    Oh Deer

Join some of the Clio groups on Facebook and look out for a guy called Ash Gourlay. He is regularly breaking Clios. Bumpers are around £500 second hand in reasonable condition.

You want to see if the chassis legs have moved. If the chassis legs have moved slightly but you do not have any crinkles in the welds or metal work you may be able to shift them back. I had a bit of a smash in my Clio at Snetterton and hit the front of the car against the armco. After finding...

    Fuel ran out

Perhaps check that the fuel pump is working? If you turn the ignition on without starting the engine you should be able to hear the fuel pump prime and make a noise that will let you know it is ready to work.

    Glacier White 200 Cup

We did a cheeky track evening on Thursday on the Indy layout at Brands Hatch. I took my GR Yaris and @EthanMenace took his Megane 250. We left the Clio at home. I really enjoy driving the Yaris, it is a good B road blaster car and as it is a homologation special people will sometimes give me...
