Well, Dan has got the car now. Gearbox, manifold, cambelt and knocking noise. Should pick it up Wednesday/Thursday.

I've had the grams springs fitted for about 2 months now. Less crashy compared to oem cup springs, with a nice drop. A lot less roll on cornering also. It's a daily, and I find it smoother and more comfortable than the cup springs. I can't find anything to complain about really.

Where are you based? Dan could take the gearbox out on Monday, give it to you while he does the other stuff and then refit it? I wouldn't know how you'd work that out with him :P

Some good news - the car was booked in with Dan at SJM next week for cambelt, manifold and remap but I've now changed it so it's getting the cambelt, manifold and the gearbox sorted. The remap will have to wait but at least it'll be sorted...

Well, bad news. I've changed the gearbox fluid to Fuchs Titan and it still crunches going into third. It's fatally wounded :( Now I need to look for somewhere to get it fixed, for not a lot of money! Has anyone actually come up with a solution that fixes it permanently?

Get the cheapest Clio 197 on the bay and shove everything into it? There's an Albi Blue on eBay for under £2k. I'd be more than happy to spare some time to help you reshell it if you ever decide to :)

I would advise against buying car cleaning products from ECP. They inflate the prices so the deals look amazing. Satin can be had from Auto Finesse direct for less. The lather shampoo 1l is £30 RRP on ECP so when you use the code it goes down to above the actual RRP which is £20 from AF...

Ohhhhh fuckkkk. I have a slight, and I mean very slight crunch going into 3rd. It's got the boggo standard Renault Elf NFP oil in it. Would it be worth sticking some Fuchs Sintofluid in or even Redline MTL? Is Redline worth the extra £20?

Gyeon Tire, KKD Tyresol or old faithful Megs Endurance gets my vote. Found nothing else that comes close to these 3.
