Also trumpet has been removed for a month or so with no fault codes at all.

Code now seems to have gone now the trumpet is refitted, how is that possible? What if I wanted an ITG Maxogen kit fitted, would that throw the code again? Surely everyone with supermarket intakes don't have permanent missfire codes? Car drives just the same as it did with trumpet removed.

Do halfords stock any plugs suitable for the 197? Google says my engine code is F4R 830 and I need NGK PFR7Z-TG but halfords website says my engine code is F4R 730 and that I need Bosch 510 Super 4? Which is right?

Where might I find air leaks? Any way I can narrow this down a bit? What could cause this, I fitted an ITG filter a few days ago and I was forced to put Tesco 95 in my car yesterday, could that have caused it? If not what should I start looking at, CAT, O2 Sensors etc?

Yeah that's the one. Will have a little look around the engine tomorrow. As I thought, its going to be one of them things that a near impossible to diagnose isn't it.

Mine on 30mm H&R spacers (standard FF suspension), going to look good when H&R springs are fitted...

Although it sounds like the exhaust is knocking I'm pretty confident its not exhaust related as I've been under the car and shaken the exhaust all over the place and don't get any knocking anywhere.

I nearly get crashed into like that on a daily basis, there's a lot of rounabouts around here with lanes but it seems no one at all knows how to use them, just yesterday it happened to me again, I'm so used to it happening that I can predict it a mile off and slow right down and get on the horn...

Yeah mines been knocking over bumps for ages now, live near a lot of proper big speed bumps too which doesn't help. I can live with the knocking on throttle let off when cold but this suspension/steering knock is driving me insane.
