I never asked whether I need them or not, I know I don't. The question the lad asked was are these discs needed outside of the track and the answer is no on all accounts, obviously they are better in every consevable way out on track, nobody has questioned that.
I havent tried them mate too be honest with you, I take my hat off to anyone who thinks a standard well maintained setup isn't good enough for a road car doing an occasional track day throughout the year though! I can't think of anyone ever complaining about the brakes after driving a 197/200...
Braided lines, new fluid and some ds2500's is all a standard Clio needs, trackdays or road, obviously the big brake upgrade is better but not worth it, as said about the meganes running 300+ BHP they still use standard setup.
I agree with all of this and will be keeping my Clio for a good few years yet, Ideally, forever or until the wheels fall off (hopefully not due to eating some armco)
Silence.... I kill you!! The slicks were pretty awesome to be fair, I was glued to my dads 340bhp impreza all day, literally nothing in it. So, in theory slicks are good for 150 BHP+?????
My 197 is faster than Mikes Mapped meg, I'd say 10 seconds a lap faster around oulton park, that's with me on flat tyres and blind folded as well so I'd deffo get a Clio if I was him.
