sorry to say this but you shouldn't have trouble from 1st to 2nd that's not right doubt if it's the linkages more like the syncromesh gear between the two is on it's way out. if it was the linkages there would be trouble between 3rd and 4th and likewise 5th and 6th fuel consumption is about...

true that my best mate had one i've drove hundreds of miles in it and it had this shudder on coming out of bends hard, that you had to correct it never gave me confidence like the clio. and the weight was too much they need stripping down to stop that wallowing in the twisties. on the plus side...

i had a 964 911 carrera 2 the thing was like the millenium falcon in a straight line, but overall from a to b the clio beats it hands down, it's the confidence it gives you through the steering wheel and seat you feel so connected to the road, and on a track the esp and tc are exceptional.

engines solid if you take it easy being a jag owner you probably wont know a car rev's over 5 k he he as said you got to look at there will be a new exhaust, shocks, dephaser pulley etc and prob a gearbox rebuild within 150k. a set of tyres every 25k these cars. for a five year old car i'd look...
