Mine did this, turned out to be the TDC sensor in the gearbox, but that was damaged by a bit of the clutch coming away, which eventually lead to clutch failure and destroyed the bell housing of my gearbox!! lol

Apparently parts have been delayed by the Japanese tsunami, which would cause further delays for parts to arrive, they were prepared to give a courtesy car, renault uk said it's something they have been doing due to delays on certain parts.

Only cost a tenner for the repair, took about 25mins getting it back in, working fine!!! Yayy!! It only took me a few hours including waiting for the starter repair guy to open up after his lunch, Renault were saying it would be 7- 10 days before they could have it sorted! Saved time and money!!!

Car has had to have the gearbox and clutch, exhaust manifold, both door handle sensors replaced, tdc sensor in gearbox, and other stuff since buying the car a year and half ago I've spent probably around £2000 on it. So it's been troublesome! And it's only done 46000 miles!!!

It may well have just been something that's decided to give out for no reason but like you say they can't prove that they haven't caused it?? For all i know they could have been doing anything?

gearbox out, bell housing has large chunks tore from it, part of the clutch disc was broke off, but that wouldnt have been fit to punture the holes in the bell housing????? there was nothing in the bell housing no bolts or anything substainical to have caused the damage, as far as I can see the...

Would oil not cause the clutch to slip then engage then slip until its under full load?? If this happened quickly would that be the cause of the judder???

having the same problem with my car at the moment. loud ticking noise coming and going, I first heard a couple of weeks ago, went out the next morning noise was gone, driving tonight the noise started and they stopped, maybe some debris caught in the fan?? plastic bag or something?? gonna check...
