My RS200 consistently averages 33 - 34 mpg with a mix of roads and driving styles BUT I rarely drive short distances.... I am happy with those figures because I don't hang about and I only use 95RON Shell or Esso fuel..! :-)

Thanks for the tip! I used Ferecla by hand and it also made the problem worse! I recently used Auto Glym paint restorer which made little difference but a quick going over by hand with Meguiars Ultimate Cut on a sponge applicator helped to bring back the black gloss! The Ferecla left an opaque...

My car has covered 7,000 fairly gentle miles but the gloss black front bumper is looking a bit tatty already! Is it definitely painted & lacquered or is the high gloss black finish some kind of gel coat? I have tried to gently polish out the fine, swirly scratches with no luck... :-(
