    Time and patience, lack of experience has caused all of my mistakes.

    GW 200 CUP (clubsport->racecar->v2)

    Merry Christmas everyone! Picked up the block a few weeks ago but wasn’t until Christmas Eve that I have actually had a day free to get started. She is now bored and honed out to 83mm so removing the out of round/tolerance that I had previously ignored. With time on my side I have taken...

    Bush Question

    Just to add another opinion, I had black on the front and a superpro on the rear and it caused me issues, basically dynamic toe on acc/deceleration but I think this is more because of the quality of superpro so you will probably be fine.

    X85 SUSPENSION V GAZ GOLDS

    A few negatives for the bilsteins, no damper adjustment, incorrect spring rates for a standard car and Josh Cook has describes them as ‘shit’

    GW 200 CUP (clubsport->racecar->v2)

    Needed a break after brands hatch, after pulling the engine I spent some time finally tidying up and sorting the lockup. Bench space, racking and some led lights and things are looking 10x better. Did some research on pistons and rods before deciding to take the plunge on some woosner high...

    Clio rs engine build (what cams?)

    The fact that you don’t see many doing similar answers your question, it seems those that are chasing power go for the PMS 240 package. Solid lifters would be required, you could look at reducing your valve train weight with conical springs which will give you some more head room but you are...

    Clio rs engine build (what cams?)

    Having looked at a few options for my build, a few things to think about when going 404+: - CatCams recommend removing VVT due to the duration - Large overlap will result in a very high idle (if idling is even possible on stock ECU) - Above 403 and the exhaust lift increases massively so the...

    Steering assist adjuster

    I was going to try adjusting this, if you look at the ECU in ddt4all it has a setting from 1-14 with the RS set to 14 as the default.

    GW 200 CUP (clubsport->racecar->v2)

    Sadly so, that was the quickest from last week and about the average from Jan. Compression has dropped about 5psi after the track day and leak down matches with the bore size against spec. Cylinder 4: 16% Cylinder 3: 17% Cylinder 2: 9% Cylinder 1: 7% It’s a cheap tester so don’t trust the...

    GW 200 CUP (clubsport->racecar->v2)

    Interesting, expected them to be much lower, Andy mentioned that moving the temp sensor into the air box has advantages (if mapped) as the intake manifold gives inaccurate readings due to its position. Blue is January, acceleration is almost flat before braking for Paddock.

    GW 200 CUP (clubsport->racecar->v2)

    For those that want the highlights: The car weighs ~1030kg dry I finished a track day without crashing Handling is the best its been Direzzas are a cut above AR1’s I have a compression problem Geo Dropped the car down to NADUK for him to work his magic, was supposed to be a few hours but...

    Glacier White 200 Cup

    Haha good work, glad I am not the only one who finds Snetterton tricky in the wet! I found I needed to be completely off the dry line and then pray when crossing it.

    Yellow

    Goodwood is certainly more of a day out, recommend to anyone who is new as you can find your own space but like you mention the queue can be a pain especially when you are trying to test / fix stuff. Lines look good btw, you can brake much much later and harder though.

    Steering Wheel spacer/extension

    I realised the other day that you can actually adjust the length of the cup ‘fixed’ steering column by unscrewing 3 bolts however it might be that it only gets shorter (need to check) so this probably doesn’t help. Adjusting the angle does make it closer but probably more like 1cm.
