Also check the A/C, not the most reliable, as I found out today.... Rattles from boot catch, which is annoying, knocking engine mounts, knocking steering racks, crunching gear boxes, also a bit jumpy from cold start, cracked exhaust manifolds and flexis, sticking or seized front and rear brake...

Id also be interested to know where this bolt is located, I have a 197 and a 200, and they both have a distant plasticy sort of clunk when returning the steering from full lock left when at a standstill.

Have to agree, there's no way id turn down a nice car because it had no recaros, i always buy on mileage and condition.

It was to first service schedule, they did offer a reduced price service, but I went for everything, it will be two years before the next one so I didn't consider it expensive including the mot.

Id say your wipers have probably been pulled up into the bonnet edge at some point, can't see how they'd catch else just through use. Just had my 200s first service and mot today at martins renault in Basingstoke, no complaints, car came back as it went in, no marks, didn't let them wash it...

Ok, I'll check them out properly, they havent previously misted up before though, only after the first time they've been used.

Aren't the fogs accessible from under the bumper?, its not condensation like what you get with headlamps, they've gone more like a powdery white, sort of florescent light looking.

As above, is this something that just happens with use?, had the fog lights on for an hour or so driving at weekend, now the glass on them has misted, not completely either, its not condensation, could be the heat from the bulbs perhaps?. Anyone elses done this?

I've always found v power the best, always used it in my rs fords and they sound better and feel sharper with it in.

It looks like its from the factory, doesn't look drilled, its tapered as well, as though it should have a cover cap, should it not be there then?.

The rear cup holder behind the hand brake has a hole facing at an angle towards the front on my 200, anyone know why?, what's it for?. Checked my partners 197 and it doesn't have one.

I was all up for finding a clio that had them, but when I actually viewed a couple with recaros i changed my mind, just didn't suit the car, they don't look right in there to me, way too big, don't match the rest of the interior and look a bit "max power" to me....

Thanks for the reply. I've had a look at their website and it looks like a smart repair place rather than a bodyshop or am I reading it wrong? I've had smart repairs done before and not been impressed with the results. I'd rather pay a bit more to get a bang on result - it needs to be as good as...
