    Lewis's Clio 200 Cup

I didn't know such a thing existed, so I'm probably not using an impact socket. I'll need to look into that, thanks!

Ryobi claims 400Nm of torque. Found a Milwaukee one that can do 1627nm! Fair bit more expensive though. Maybe I'm getting what I paid for.

Intersting you guys have had similar issues with impact wrenches, with different brands too. If all I need to do is go through the bolts with the breaker bar in the morning before jacking the car up then I can live with that. Some of the bolts were proper stiff though, makes me wonder if I need...

Other random ramblings: So far I seem to be the only guy who leaves all his kit in a heap on the ground in the paddock. The norm seems to be to bring a support vehicle, or no kit. I haven't had any bother doing this though, other than folk occasionally parking next to my kit while I'm on track...

    Lewis's Clio 200 Cup

Had my first track day of the year on Sunday at a dry Knockhill. Good mix of cars in attendance and I had a blast  Over the winter I invested in a Simpson Bandit helmet and a Ryobi Impact Wrench, hoping to make the track day a bit less hectic. This worked well, but I was surprised when...

Help! Need to source a new exhaust manifold (2018)

For what it's worth, my oem exhaust manifold welds failed during the 3 month warranty period I had from the dealer. They got it repaired by an engineering firm and (touch wood) I haven't had any issues with it since. Even after 3 track days.

Replacing the rusty boot latch Replacing the rusty boot latch should have been a quick job since I had effectively thrown money at the problem by investing in a new original renault part. However, more rust was lurking behind the latch... The latch sits insde a black metal cartridge, that in...

    Lewis's Clio 200 Cup

A new speed sensor fixed the problem that was causing the ESP/ABS light. Possibly more fallout from all the heat the stuck rear calipers were generating. A new sensor fixed that problem, so I decided to go ahead with replacing the rusty radiator mount. This is what the old radiator mount looked...

    John's GW 200

Sorry to hear about your wife. Best of luck and I hope maybe see you at knockhill next week too. I'm hoping I will be able to make it also.

New wheels look good! Very odd that the manufacturers messed around with the offset so much, and Et45 sounds quite wide. Comparing my track wheels with yours using Willtheyfit.com, looks like they will be very similar in how they sit relative to the wheel arches. Should look nice on the car...

    Bonnet Alarm Sensor Fixing?

The sensor lines up with a small hole, but there is no special inserts

    Bonnet Alarm Sensor Fixing?

Haven't got a picture of the bonnet side, but I happen to have a picture of my rusty alarm switch mount. I'm planning to try to restore it this weekend as it's an eye sore. If I remember tonight I'll take a picture of the bonnet side.

Sounds like we have very similar setups! And supportive wives (so far at least ;) The R888R's have been great. I've driven them in a few different weather conditions now and I'd say its only when its proper wet (as in actually raining) that they struggle. I'd say put em on as soon as the track...

    Lewis's Clio 200 Cup

Had good fun at the Super Lap Scotland event at Knockhill. Was great to be on track with all the Clio Sport Owners Club Scotland guys. My wee Clio was running well, exhaust sounded a more throaty. Strangely enough I didn't notice much of a difference with braking, even though the rear brakes...

    Lewis's Clio 200 Cup

Exhaust developed an annoying rattle that I couldn't fix myself, so booked the car into the garage. While there they also identified a problem with the water pump, sticking rear calipers, rear drivers side bearings and a rusty radiator mount. TBH I had noticed that the water pump was getting a...

    Lewis's Clio 200 Cup

Survived my first Hot Hatch track day at Knockhill  It was definitely different to the open pit lane track day I did back in June. Was raining in the morning so decided to stick with my pilot sport 4's, which did really well in the wet. I was surprised with how much grip I had. It...
