just so people know, the cage in my car is NOT the one being used for the series. There is another one being designed which is a through dashboard job, and i suspect more substantial. does seem a shame that what started out as a cheap entry into motorsport has once again become anything but!

i read it that the map was sent out with the recipient knowing that it would need more work. As k-tec were planning to get some results and feedback and tweak/adjust the map. So they never said it was 100% safe. For some reason not told to us the recipient decided not to have it adjusted......

i do agree with this also, I guess its a double sided sword, as on one hand we want to talk to them about the products etc, but then we moan the results are not true. Then when customers show thier own results and products in a more unbiased way we then complain the tuner isnt online talking...

In my eyes good companies don't need to come on forums and big themselves up. If they are good, thier customer base does it for them.

so because one particular car has been shown to have a bad map, your assuming your car must have one also, despite many of us having K-Tec maps on our cars without issue? Maybe instead of calling someone a cowboy, you actually pick up the phone and talk to them, share your worries and see...

so how come you have heard of all the non public ones and the rest of us havent? Not that it matters, at the end of the day we all have our prefered or favoured tuners and we will all have different opinions. ktec will continue to provide a service as will RST. Lets just hope it stays...

without wanting to open a can of worms of slagging match, surely if what you claim is correct, then for the number of cars that have been mapped, why do we only hear of the odd one that has issues?

The point is you still gain camber which you can't do without adjustable top mounts. Just with being able to adjust them on the spot you could add more for track days etc.

cool pics. i have always wondered with the later top mounts, the hole is very small, so the chances of adjusting the camber whilst on the car is pretty slim. or is there enough room to be able to? As removing the strut everytime would be a nightmare!

finally an update........ So as some may have seen my car has been with Safety Devices for the last few weeks. I wanted a roll cage for it but one that allowed the interior to stay in place and the rear seats to still be usable. I had one of thier cages in my old 182 which had the same...

i wanted a cage fitted that allows me to keep the interior and use the rear seats. this safety devices cage allows that. so when at the track i can fit the rear 'X' and door bars. so its the best of both worlds. I am just using it for extra safety on track days/ring trips. I knew Mark...

I am collecting my car from Safety Devices on Wednesday as I just had a cage designed and made in conjunction with Mark Fish, so it's obviously the one they are using for the series. So will get pics up for people to see. Costs are spiralling rapidly!
