    Worn tie rod?

They're the part numbers I got from Karl, he used my chassis no. to get them so I hope they're right! I've bought the parts now and bought the special tool needed for inner track rod arms. I can do a quick guide if needed but there are tons of videos on youtube showing how to do it and can't...

    Worn tie rod?

Cheers Si. There was a tiny bit of in/out movement on the inner track rod which I'd assumed was fairly normal. Guess I need to get both bits changed then. How hard is it to change the inner track rod? I read the workshop manual and it looks like you need a special tool which is ~£60 but if I...

    Worn tie rod?

Ok so I have a price for the track rod ends and also a price for the track rod. Track rod end: http://renaultpartsdirect.co.uk/products/Renault-Clio-3-Steering-Track-Rod-End.html Track rod: http://renaultpartsdirect.co.uk/products/Renault-Clio-3-Steering-Track-Rod.html From wiggling the wheels...

    Worn tie rod?

Pleased to hear it's as easy as it looks. I have changed one before on an old car but am sure I read some threads on here saying it was a pain in the arse! Will get one ordered or maybe do both sides if they're not too expensive

    Worn tie rod?

The joint that's worn is circled in red. I was assuming that you turn the hex in the green circle to undo? Just that I read on here you need special tools due to poor access but the hex looked easy to access when I was looking earlier....

    Worn tie rod?

I read on here in other threads that these are a pain in the arse to change. However, jacked mine up earlier to check that there was actually play in this joint (there was) but couldn't see why it should be so difficult to change? There's one hex on the end of the track rod which I assume you...

    Can the clio be replaced?

Once they've lost a few more grand I'll definitely get a test drive, would have to be a cup so I get the diff and then would have to be leather recaros. I really wanted RWD on the next car but the megane may well be the next best thing

My Ultra Red 197 - Update - Trackday Photos

Time for an update. So, having recently gone off the rails and decided I was selling up I've had some slightly disappointing test drives and realised perhaps the grass isn't greener on the other (more expensive & powerful) side! I treated her to a little something earlier, should be with me by...

    Can the clio be replaced?

Sums it up pretty well!! My decision is made. The clio is staying a little longer.

    better turn-in/ change of direction

I found the KW V3s a massive improvement on mine, much less body roll and almost no dive under braking. The cornering grip level is also massively improved. Can't recommend these coilovers enough even if they are a tad expensive!

    V Power nitro

I filled up with this yesterday and I think I can feel more torque low down plus with the windows down at high revs there seems to be more of a whooshing sound. Good chance it's all placebo though!

    Can the clio be replaced?

Going by what I read they're not as fun as the 197/200 but are probably better for every day. They're also still a bit expensive, when the prices drop another 2k ish I may well book a test drive. I did however look at R26Rs, the only thing putting me off is the practicality! Cheers, no...

    Can the clio be replaced?

An elise/exige is the obvious step up in terms of fun. But, then I can't put my bikes in the back and go to the trails, I don't have a relatively comfortable place to sit on the motorway, they don't have a decent stereo and decent ones are big money!

    Can the clio be replaced?

Deadmau5, think you hit it on the head with the grass is greener on the other side thing. I test drove the M3 and the power/torque amazed me, that was on my first test drive on straight roads. Second test drive on smaller twistier roads it showed it's weight and size, I then drove my clio down...

    Can the clio be replaced?

Some of you will know, I've been thinking about selling up and moving on. Real motivation is that the 197 isn't an ideal everyday car, I'm a bit tired of it on the commute and I really fancy some more power. I was pretty much set on an e46 M3 as they're great cars, had a good test drive...

    BMW M3 e46

Had my test drive yesterday, decided that SMG is definitely not for me and I'll be looking for a manual one. It's a shame as I loved everything else about the car

Anyone done a road trip to the Nurburg?

I went with a mate for 3 days, sharing all costs except the x4 laps which I paid for. Cost me around £300 and him £200 ish

How much have you spent on fuel in your Clio ownership?

I've done about 31k miles in the last 3 years and with an average of ~27mpg I'm working it out at about £6700! Ouch :(
