It depends what dampers you'l be using them with as well I guess. I use them with 197 Cup dampers and it's a very good match, the ride is firmer but that's the point really isn't it? Less roll and pitch, very good setup.

Another user here!!! :) Very impressed with them in the wet, even with the extra oomph of the new engine they don't want to spin up. Car feels very planted, arguably better than the Conti's in these conditions and they seem to throw an awful amount of water up the rear end. Haven't used them...

I'd guess that a good portion of that would be labour charged at the usual inflated dealers rates. See if an independent would do it cheaper?

Dampers are around £250 brand new for a full set from the dealers to give you some idea of what used ones would be worth. Springs however are really expensive from the dealers.

Beyond the gearbox synchro' issues (the throw and action of it was always great to me), I think the shortcomings of the 197/200 is low down torque or lack of it. Which of course the FI thing resolves. I do agree with a lot of what you've said though to be fair, I love the F4R, it added so much...
