Immobiliser Issue - Garage Recommendations

Hi all,

I’ve got some starting issues with my 197. All was running smoothly on a track day then wouldn’t start after a cool down period. I think it’s an immobiliser issue (seems to fit the descriptions from some on here). I’m not technically minded enough to fix it myself. I don’t want to take it to a non-specialist garage and then spend lots of time and money trying to diagnose something that might be obvious to someone in the know. Can anyone recommend a garage somewhere near Wiltshire?

Thanks in advance for any help.

One thing to check is whether your starter motor is dead. I can't recommend a garage in Wiltshire as I don't live near there but a lot of starter motors die when they get too hot, or the heat shield for the starter motor comes loose and causes an electrical short.

You should be able to tell if the immobiliser is on or off. When you turn the ignition on there should be a red light at the bottom of the dashboard that goes out once you attempt to start the car. If the red light stays solid then you may have an electrical problem.
