Keyless Lock?

Hi, I have the keyless on my 197, it works when opening both doors and the boot no problems at all but when i try to lock the car using the door handle button from the drivers side, it is not locking? The passenger door button and the boot lock button both work.

Anyone know the reason why this happens? Is it a common fault?

This has just all of a sudden stopped working and its quite gutting! ... Is this a case of just buying a new door handle or is there more behind it?

Both my door handle buttons stopped working at one point, however they somehow fixed themselves and started working again!
Have been fine for months now (touch wood)

Think it is a fairly common thing, other people might be able to shed more light on the actual cause..

Well hopefully mine will just start working again!

Mines similar, but a little different, the lock works ok on all doors, but the unlock (by pulling the handle) doesn't work on the drivers side rather annoying as obviously the drivers door is the most used...

My one is also a little retarded, Keyless unlock only functions on the passenger side and boot, the locking button only works on the drivers side. Makes me sad :'(

Mine did the exact same (everything working bar locking the door with the handle button), changed the battery in the fob and it resolved the problem (this is over 6 months ago now so hopefully not just a fluke).

They are on the way out or button can get stiff.

I had similar experience, but as you say Hassleheff, changing the key card battery resolved the issue.

I do also find that if I haven't used the car for a week the unlocking function of putting your hand on the door handle doesn't work and I have to press the button on the key card to unlock the car. However as soon as I've done this once I can then lock/unlock with the door handles no problem. I can only assume this may have something to do with the link between the car and key card being lost after a few days so it doesn't recognise that the key card is close to the car?

It may be the optical IR sensor that's faulty by the sound of it.
