    200 steering wheel wear

Mine started to go like the last pic but about twice as bad. I was expecting an argument to get it replaced but the Service Manager took one look at it and said "Yeah we'll get you another ordered for next week". Strange how some dealers just can't be arsed isn't it!

Without turbo/supercharging not too much i don't think. 140ish bhp maybe with usual exhaust/filter/remap combo. Bear in mind these things only weigh 1045kg tho ;)

    Just outside Colchester mate.

Different yet similar..lol. Its very easy to drive sedately compared to the Clio but just as chuckable when giving it the beans. Not 'quite' as sharp as the Clio (to be expected) but not enough difference on normal roads to be an issue. It really is a sweet handling little thing. 0-60 i...

Couple of very quick camphone pics of the Swift. So far very, very impressed with the whole package. Only minus points so far: Alloy wheel finish is a bit ropey (like every other Jap car I've owned so not unexpected). Everything slides around in the boot (no biggy and can be...

    Melting Steering Wheel

I'm sure there are pics on here somewhere.....its pretty obvious once it starts tho. Starts off looking like the wheel has 'flattened' or worn in one area and the perforated holes start to disappear or melt into one. Then it starts to raise up. Then bubble and melt and all sorts of...

    Melting Steering Wheel

Yep, they'll just replace steering wheel like for like under warranty mate. You then have to risk it might happen again like you say. Mine went in less than 2 years/15000 miles!! Not good! Once it started to go it really started to go bad very quickly and i personally couldn't put up with...

Thanks for all your kind words! Not sure how you are managing that mate lol! To be fair I can deal with the fuel consumption (previous two cars were even thirstier than the Clio!!) if I was blasting around the back roads and some nice B roads.....but I ain't. Not even close anymore! Just...

Thanks chaps. Picking the Swift up Friday afternoon so will get some pics up asap after the weekend. I was well impressed by it on the test drive tbh. Part-ex on the 200 wasn't amazing but happy with the deal I got in the end.

Almost new 2012 model Swift Sport! Much nicer than the older version and handles and revs really well. Kind of in the same spirit as the Clio tbh. Still a fun car but half the insurance, almost half the tax and alot better MPG. No brainer really!

Clio is off end of the week after a year of pretty much (a new steering wheel and drivers seat covering under warranty) faultless ownership. She just wasn't being used as Renaultsport intended so rather than keep it and watch money run down the drain I've chopped her in. Great car overall...

    Superchips special offer on Bluefin

Hmmm....interesting! What are the actual losses? Cant really see from the graph you've uploaded, its a bit small. Not the first time I've read about the lean mixture issue with bluefins either (on other car marques). Have to say i've been wondering if there was a massive placebo effect with...

    ITG Maxogen: worth it's money

Sound valve? Lost me there I'm afraid! I just removed the shaped flexi pipe that comes as part of the kit and is pushed down the side of the battery/headlight and supposedly draws cold air into the filter housing. It was discussed on another thread on here whether the pipe was actually...

    ITG Maxogen: worth it's money

I've decided the Clios time is up so it will be going back to standard soon. Wouldn't be selling it otherwise though....:thumbup1:
