I fitted mine a month ago and have no issues with it I did have to file it down a little so the reverse lifter would lift but nothing major. Very happy only downside is the metal is freezing in the morning!!!

White spirits a way too abrasive for car paint. You our could end up with a dull patch from rubbing the area. Best off with a car friendly product.

Hair dryer and tooth floss or fishing wire... You don't need to heat it that much at all. Even if it's a sunny day the line will ease right thru. All you have to do is pick off the spongey sticker. Then give it a polish as the paint will be slightly faded
