Replaced, fixed. Afaik i cant see any wiring rubbing the block. Car now MOT’d, i just have to lump up the road tax! I think the new battery has a taller lip on the base, thus the tie down clamp bolt struggles to actually tie in. Anyone know if it’s an m8 or m10, and what length? Was gonna...

New fuses arrived so i’ll swap it tonight and see if it blows again

New engine yeah, but it did a trackday nps, and has been semi regularly run up and charged. It only failed on the latest attempt. I did drop a nut when swapping battery that i assumed hit the undertray but perhaps its shorting something.

agreed, though 'check wiring to starter' implies i know what it should look like when working.. :D

ah yes, i think we found the issue in a blown battery terminal fuse - not sure of the cause, though, nor do i have time to investigate - if i'm lucky i can swap the fuse and get it MOT'd on friday.

ordered 2 from RPD, waiting to confirm they actually have it in stock, but if not i'll get one from ebay. i figure i'll change it, it'l blow again, and i'll regret not having another on hand for a tenner.

this isn't going to garner much in the way of tiny-violin support for my broken clio, but people may find it interesting that i'm also having the windscreen replaced on this. i think i perhaps famously once said the clio is pretty close to a gt3 for a track fun levels, and intended on taking it...

no lights at all. i'll get a screwdriver and prise them out - the big purple (battery protector?) one seems fine? hard to really confirm unless they're on fire/melty.
