Rye197, you may have got away with it this time, however your symptoms are consistent with a physical problem with the wipers. I believe the system will resort to slow speed if fast is deemed too stressful by the 'brain' which will countermand the switch setting. So it could be that yours are on...

Don't forget that, although the pins are supplied in pairs (Renault at least), you need a pair for each wheel, ie 2 pairs per axle - really annoying when you have to re-order half way through a job!!

Indeed they do! It's the first car that's had a seized mechanism which is crappy engineering for a 5 yr old car, but fixed this an still no joy. Regarding the motor, it's difficult to see how to lad it when it's got such low gearing (worm type drive). Must be somewhere in the black box that's...
