200 Xenon group buy?

Just wondering if anyone would be interested in this? Without discount, I can source the projector headlight units (below) and xenon units (6k) for approx £350 ( the headlight units alone are more than that direct from Renault)

Which would give the same style set-up as Da has one his 200

I've had a brief chat with the supplier, and they'd want numbers before commiting to a discount, but I'd be hoping for 10% off (so £320ish).

I think it's important that interest people realise they are a faff to fit (bumper off job), so don't bother putting your name down if that's an issue.

If you're interested stick your name down, and I'll get back to the supplier with numbers end of next week

Not sure what you mean there mate...mine has xenons in it.

OE is 4300K and mine are 6000K, that probably accounts for any colour differences.

LOL, they're the same thing mate. It's discharge lighting, High Intensity Discharge hence HID. Xenon is a common name used for HID's, much like Hoover for Vaccuum.

Xenon is a gas used in the Discharge lamp

yeah but factory fit vs aftermarket. tilt sensors, auto levelling etc

I know its the gas inside the bulb that replaces the filament blah blah lol lets see how long they last.

I had aftermarket HID's in an old clio and it failed MOT + they kept going out as the ballast was drawing too much currant.

I never said they were factory fit - my point is that HID's and Xenons are one and the same thing.

People confuse that issue all too much.

Definitely mate, which is down to the temperature rating. Do the 197's use 4300k as standard?

All factory fit xenons are 4300k.

Aftermarket kits do exactly the same thing as factory fit. They're normally not as reliable and they don't have the headlight wash/auto leveling. Bulb setup is the same though and will give the same output

No offence to anyone, but HID's and the like should all be banned!

Only factory fitted Xenon should be allowed on UK roads or ones set up to the same specification of OEM Xenons,

My reason for this? To many ******s driving around with retina burning HID's that are retro fitted on some chavs driveway with out following the proper guidelines set out so they blind ever ****er.

I am sure they are illegal anyway if they dont have headlamp cleaning and self-levelling.

Sorry but its something that gets on my tits and is dam right dangerous.

EDIT: Interesting read as well http://www.sinspeed.co.uk/blog/09/are-xenon-hid-conversion-kits-road-legal/

Agree to a certain extent, HIDs definitely shouldn't be fitted unless you have projector lenses as they're dangerous to other road users.

However, properly aligned HIDs aren't a problem as long as the driver has the common sense to use the leveling switch when there's weight in the back.

I have HIDs in mine with projectors and aligned properly, never had anyone flash me
