Is it possible to get a feedback section on profiles etc as a seller/buyer? That would be helpful for the noobs especially, obviously the regulars are pretty tight nit but it's nice to let others know that someone is a trustworthy seller etc....

I've thought of this before too.

On other forums where i don't interact much - i usually link to my ebay feedback to offer potential buyers a bit of security about who i am if i put an item for sale. Might be an idea to suggest this in the guidelines here ?

Not sure; but i image the whole feedback thing would be a small and very time-consuming nightmare..............

Possibly yes. I find it useful on new forums, the last thing you want is to join a new community to get scammed or left with a bitter taste. Saying that, I've not heard a bad thing about this place, which I'm sure a lot of you will be glad to hear. Yes it's not as busy as our older mk2 brothers and sisters community, but christ it's hard keeping up with things there! I much prefer it here, everyone is or at least comes across as much more mature, and you're able to have a decent conversation with people without having childish comments or puns chucked everywhere. (except from chris) :tearsofjoy::kissingheart:

You used to be able to leave purchase & selling feedback on here, when the site was owned by Jase

for those that could be bothered

Well it was just the last software, xenforo does have this as an add-on to the site which you can download (and probably have to pay for the privilege)

To be honest though, it was hardly used on the last software...

Another option is for members to leave feedback on the actual For Sale thread - both the buyer and seller could leave a comment about the experience. I realise that this isn't an 'at a glance', easily-accessible way of reviewing feedback, but it is a way for members to build up a level of 'reputation'.

And with time, if it became established, it would be a useful guide.

This is a good idea. Works well in other places I've seen.

As has been mentioned above, I'm sure there would be a plugin for the site software to facilitate this. How straightforward that would be to implement however could be a different story. I know once you get into the back end of these systems it can get very complicated very quickly.

For the record, I've bought two items and sold two on here. Bang on every time from the guys I've bought from and sold to.

Good shout Jimmy.

Would be a really simple way of doing it; and would be great IF it was then easy to search all topics started by Jimmy (For example) in the For Sale section.

Other that that - it could really take some stalking searching; to find the useful feedback info posted.

That would work pretty well and require no messing about in the back end. However, it only works for sellers. As most of us probably know, buyers can be a total nightmare too!

Feedback does and could be left both ways Mes. I thought that was the idea ?

On the thread sure, but you couldn't search for the buyer as they didn't start the thread. Sure you could look for all their posts in the sale section but that would be very cumbersome in a lot of cases.

Sorry. With you. Agreed and understood !

And i'm with you on buyers being pain in the asses. Whilst i hope i'm the best seller ever. I unfortunately might be 'that' buyer sometimes....

How about a feedback thread in the for sale section - where you can write a short comment about the seller you've bought from. Obviously not a discussion thread...

BOOM !

Each user who participates in a sale would therefore gets his / her own thread that could be added to at any time from further sales / purchases.

Genius. Just as well one of us is awake.....

sounds like a best solution Chris..but as you stated above..not a discussion..just a simple feedback from both sides..

Ha, I bet that's not true mate. Picky maybe, but that's totally fair, but I can't ever see you being an arse worthy of negative feedback!

Yeah that's a good idea, Chris. Would be more accessible than the For Sale threads - especially when it comes to buyers, as stated above.

So would it be one thread that everyone wrote in, or would we be looking at creating individual threads for each buyer/seller?

Might be a bit of a pain but maybe a list of members, at least active ones with a feedback rating next to the name?
