Yokohama AD08R - Anyone got them on their 200?

As above. I had these on my Ep3 type R and they were fantastic. Considering swapping the Nankang NS2R's out for these soon. While the Nankangs are excellent overall, they can be unnerving in the wet, whereas the AD08R's were brilliant in all conditions I found. Obviously you cannot hammer through standing water but in terms of wet grip they were good. Anyone got any pics of how they look on the Clio? Cheers

Quite a few run them. They are a popular tyre.
Pav runs the ad08 Yiannis197 runs the r's i believe

Thanks boys. Anyone got a pic of them mounted on speed lines, as they look way lower profile than my Nankangs despite being the same size! I like the way the Nankangs fill the arches but I don't like the way you go off the road in the wet! Lol I jest, but they are just no way near as good as the yokos in the wet.

you are right..the nankangs look much chunkier..you can get the yoko's for £95 per corner from camskill...

Ive been running them on my 197 since january and have done 2 trips round wales and a week at the ring last week, plus the usual driving about and still got plenty of tread left. Have driven both on motorways and smaller roads in very wet conditions and provided your not trying to be a hero in the rain they are fine. Standing water is abit twitchy but still not too bad.

Someone must have a decent photo of these mounted on speedline wheels? I currently run Nankang and they are quite chunky which I like as it kinda softens some of the harshness of the cup chassis. Hence why I'd like to see what these are like on a rim. Thanks.

I've been looking at some new tyres recently as the AD08Rs I have on my track wheels are past their best (but I think they have just been through too many heat cycles). I can't find anything in the same price range that would be better to replace them with so I'll probably buy them again - £89 on Camskill last time I checked!!

Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2s are meant to be really good aren't they? Pricey though. I swear I saw some in 215/45/17 size on mytyres.co.uk but they seem to have disappeared now :worried:

Anyway a couple of pics of 215/45/17 AD08Rs on Speedlines below (front tyres only).

Thanks mate. Yes you definitely can get those MPSC2 tyres on our size as o saw them online.

Those yokos definitely look less chunky than the nankangs in the same profile right:

you're both right. found them in 215/45 17 on a dutch site. strange that there's no mention of them on the official michelin site.

Hmm not sure I can see too much difference other than your tyres are a lot cleaner than mine!

What are the Nankangs like in the dry then, have you taken them on track? They are dirt cheap so just wondering how they compare to AD08Rs in the dry when hammering it..

I was reading up on MPSC2 last night and they do sound really good. £134 on mytyres.co.uk. My vote is go for them and then give us some feedback

Lol i bet it is, Guinea pig! [emoji14] I would fancy the michelins but they're pricey. The Nakangs aren't much cheaper than the yoko's now although the yoko's used to be more expensive. The Nakangs are excellent in the dry. They are probably 10% less grippy the the yoko's (I've had both) in that they real away a touch sooner than the yoko's and they are pretty sketchy in the wet but overall they're excellent. However now they are closely priced to the yoko's you may as well spend the £30 extra I reckon. What profile are your Yokohama's? Wonder whether 215 will look too skinny in the arch as I'm not lowered. All these things matter lol![emoji14]

Yeah you can almost buy 6 Yokos for the price of 4 Michelins! I will probably stick to the Yokos then, they are pretty good and it doesn't seem like there are any better alternatives in the same price range.

Mine are 215/45. I'm not lowered either and there is a bit of an arch gap but personally I would stick to 215/45

Sure a few people run the 225 width too. They must be better as more tyre contact with the road as a tough wider. Anyone got pics of 225's fitted?
