So had a quick search and couldn't find a similar thread so thought I'd get one started... Might be good for a bit of nostalgia if nothing else:smiley:

I'll go first, so my first car was a 2002 0.8L Fiat Seicento! I really wanted the sporting or Abarth version but I couldn't get insured on them, the insurance on this one was £2500 for the year ... the car only cost me £700! The joys of being a young driver in Manchester eh!

Here she is in all her glory:

Awy8ZdZl.jpg

Didn't really do much with her, only thing I did was pick up the full interior of a sporting model (only cost me £100 for all 5 seats and door cards) which made the interior a much nicer place to be:

Then I upgraded to a 2006 1.4L Grande Punto sporting about a year later, although in terms of mods I didn't do anything to her at all:

Had her for about 2 years before some plonker pulled out into me and damaged all up the side;

At this point the car wasn't worth much and to go through the insurance would have spiked my premium even though it would have been a non fault claim, so I decided to upgrade to the Clio I have now!

Should be interesting to see everyone's posts!

First car in 1999 when I was 17 was an Austin Maestro 1.3, with a sexy 4-speed gearbox :excited: Quite quick for a 1.3 though!Ragged the arse off that until it blew up about a year later.
Next was a mk2 golf gti, cost me £1200 and £2200 to insure... Kept it for around 2 years.
Then an EK Civic Type R, did the usual wheels, suspension, breathing mods etc. then I got banned for 9 months for speeding :ban::oops:

After the ban was up, I bought my mate's saxo vtr, which was standard. I kept it standard for about 2 years, then pretty much went to town on it. Bilstein suspension, high-comp throttle-bodied 16v engine with standalone ecu, 4-pots, cage etc. and got a focus 1.6 as a daily.
Focus was ploughed into a wall during the really bad winter of 2010/early 2011, then I bought the 197. I still have the saxo, but the engine and brakes were sold and it's sitting in my garage with a standard engine having been off the road for around 5 years.
Next car will be a sensible family car, something like a Golf GTD, or one of the quicker Volvo 'D' cars, although the Clio will be kept as Daddy's toy :track::french:

First car was a Mini Cooper (the old ones)
Then I had a load of VW Beetles, the best one was a 1960's Deluxe.
Then a Citroen AX GT - Loved this car.
The a Golf 1.6
Then a Polo 1.9 TDI Sport with Silverline coilovers and BBS split rims with black centres and polished lips.
And now the 197. Not many cars really.

My first car was a Rover 25 Olympic edition. It cost me £500 and just shy of £3k to insure in 2011. Strapped a cone filter straight on to the engine block because a mate said it would add at least 100bhp (in reality it was more like 50  )

Kept the car for about 18 months, then upgraded to a 1.4TDCI fiesta. This was kept completely standard.

Upgraded to the clio after a year of the fiesta, and have had the clio for the past 2 years

I've had very few cars and I've never been one for doing a lot of mods...

First car was a burgundy 1.4 5 door Astra (G reg) - I remember the excitement of buying some 'sporty' wheel trims for it!

I had a couple of regular Fiestas after that, and then bought a 1.6 Zetec-S (mk5) in Imperial Blue. Loved this car to bits. I put 17inch OZ Super T's on for a short while and some ghey lexus-style rear light clusters...they were the in thing at the time, honest.

I had a second ZS in black, but it never lived up to the excitement of the first one. And it rusted.

Then got the 197 and have kept it largely standard!

Throwaway Rovers £200 jobs just for a year then binned them!
Then a Laguna estate which was average

Mine is quite as long a list as some of yours.

First car was Renault Megane 1.6 Fidji in yellow. I ended up losing a fight with a tree. Kinda gutted as it was only 3 years old at the time.
Picture149.jpg

Next was 1 owner 50k miles. Kept for a couple of years. No mods, original everything, even the stereo.
582f76ba.jpg

After that, the same but different.
Thousand of pounds in mods Got stolen.
Picture322_zps3110bbe5.jpg

Replaced with another one but I didn't really get on with it. I had it repainted and the engine had nut and bolt resto. The rs bug had been tainted after the last one got stolen
P5210023.jpg

After that, wrx with sti turbo and other engine bits.
Picture041.jpg

Bought a house after that so had to be sensible.
DSCF4556.jpg

Kept that for a year or 2. I called the dealer as I wanted something quicker and he offered that I take the Clio 200 out ad he had it on the forecourt

IMAG0760.jpg

We have the clio and a Mercedes for the daily
