why when cold

In particular does my clio make a LOuD deeo ish whining noise from the engine i think is this normall

Mines has done something similar in the past but think its fairly normal, I did spend a day or so driving miss daisy with my head over the wheel in the dashboard, kind of like how some women drive with no gap between myself and the steering wheel, just to listen to it more, on the clutch, off the clutch, in gear, out of gear, I tried it always.

The car kept going and I forgot about it, still runs perfectly fine and nothing has every been bought up at service time.

But the Clio has a progressive limiter, when cold it wont let you rev past what Renault consider safe for the engine.

I think he means when he goes above 5000 revs when the engine is warm but the temperature outside is cold.
