All depends if you notice the problems.

Mine up until a few weeks ago only had the rubber seals on the door split.

But now the gearbox is almost dead, if it was not then it would have only been the seals.

I think most cars have a few niggles here and there and you are very lucky if nothing goes wrong.

My finacee's KA had to have a gearbox rebuild and a mate of mine had a new fourth gear cog in his Grande Punto amoungst other things. A chap I used to work with had 2 heater matrix's go within 4 weeks of each other on his Zetec S Fiesta. Which is a 2 day dash removal to repair!

It's not resticted to main stream manufacturers such as Renault, Fiat and Ford either, my dad's Audi has been back several times. They even replaced the cambelt tensioner under warrenty a while back! My mom's Mini has been in twice and my Brother's Aygo hasn't escaped the warrenty work disease either!
