Ultraleggera (17x8, ET55) tyre size

I’ve a set of Ultraleggera’s arriving this week, and thinking about tyres. I can either re-use the 215/45’s I’ve already got, or buy something wider.

Just wondering what forum members would recommend, and if any rubbing issues with 225 or 235 sizes?

Thanks!

225 is cheaper as it’s a more common size, 235s are pricey is you go for a 235/40 and will more than likely run with that offset.

Thanks - I didn’t realise there is a cost difference for 225. Using the ATS deal you posted that brings 4 x PS4’s + Amazon toy down to £337.96 which is pretty good value!

Ah - it's lowered a tiny bit, I swapped cup springs for Eibach...

So what I need is someone with a FF Cup, running Ultraleggeras and Eibach springs... which is unlikely because Eibach springs and Cup dampers isn't the best combination!!!

I don’t think you’ll ever scrub in normal use, more a extreme circumstances sorta thing. My mate who has a 200 with the same wheels managed to scrub his with track driving.
He runs H&R on cup shocks.

Once I have my Ultraleggeras back from the powdercoaters I’ll report back! I’m on Cooksport springs and will have 225/45 AD08RS

Does anyone know if the MK3 200 has TPMS that I'd need to worry about? I remember having it on my 197 (because I got a puncture!) but can't find any details about whether or not it's on the 200???

Wheels arrived this afternoon, need to get booked in for tyres now!

Thanks - I think I was confusing the 197 with the Ceed GT... the Kia used a really similar display of the car with 4 tyres for TPMS.

I thought it was weird that there was nothing about TPMS in the manual, and was even considering deflating one of the tyres to check!!!

Was an optional extra IIRC for which the little car display in the middle of the speedo is for.

It won't cause any issues if you don't have the sensors on the new wheels.

Looks like powdercoaters did a great job - wheels look awesome.

I ended up transplanting the 215’s off my standard wheels to start with - they don’t look too bad
