Thinking of coming back.. Opinions please

Not posted on the forum for a while. I used to own
A 2006 197 in ultra red and absolutely loved it to bits!
But my little boy came along so it had to make way for
A five door.. :worried: I went sensible first and got myself a 2009
Ibiza 1.4 sport but found it incredibly boring and incapable
after the Clio. So after a couple of months I traded it in for
A mint 2007 crono yellow Leon tfsi fr with low miles
(still only 26,000) I put on some 18" borbet alloys and lowered
it slightly with some HR's. Looks awsome, very capable car especially
with the dsg, but not quite as exciting as the Clio. But good enough to
satisfy me for a good 2 years.
The misses now has a 5 door and i have convinced her
we only need the one. Ive been looking at a few late 197's
and 200's.
Do you guys think going back to a Clio would be a step down
from the fr? Also if you guys don't mind me asking, what's your
opinions on the late 197s and 200s? Is there much between
them? I remember mine was a little lumpy on very low revs
and could have done with a little tourqe low down (not that that
bothered me much). I suppose what Im asking is does the 200
behave any different? Is it worth the extra for a 200? I think
I actually prefer the 197 front end although the 200 has grown
on me massively since I first saw it!
I have put my Leon on eBay to gauge interest. I'm not really
sure what it's worth, but I know the trade in value is pants.
If anyone is interested in a px/swap let me know  ( I would
post an eBay link but I'm not sure I'm allowed in this section?)
Any opinions would be greatly appreciated..
Thanks. Brad

:welcome: back to the fold .Never had a 200 but I hear the same probs with them as the 197s but don't let that put you off.Its not a down grade they are still the pocket rocket of the hot hatches.Go on get one and come back to your SPIRTUAL HOME:thumbsup:

Welcome back Brad!!!

I'll be honest and say I only read half of your first post, it was making my eyes bleed hahaha!!!

Anyway, you know the answer already which is why you're back on here. You just want others to say it too. Go get yourself another Clio.

Renaultsport >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> VAG.

Fact.

There was a chap on here who made the move from a similar Leon to a 200, from what I can gather he misses both cars but for different reasons as he ended up with an Audi (poor guy!).

It's never going to be an upgrade or downgrade, the two car are too different for direct comparison despite being hot hatches. More of a side step, a change of style.
Depends what you want from the car, weekend toy would be the Clio. The leon is probably more versatile and an easy drive but not as involving, more point and squirt which has its appeals

It's only ever going to come down to a test drive.

There's nothing quite like driving a Clio, get yourself another! I know I do!
