Targa Tasmania

This years ultimate tarmac rally in the world has been run & won, finishing today after 6 days of competition over some of the best closed roads that exist anywhere.

Unfortunately we missed this years event (1st one we've missed in 5 years) but will be doing a couple of the other championship rounds later in the year.

A well driven 2016 911 GT3 RS finished in 1st this year, Oh & a Megane 275 finished 4th outright punching well above its weight.

Forget circuit racing, supersprints, hillclimbs, motorkhanas etc this is as good as it gets. Nothing ive ever done (& ive tried most motorsports) comes remotely close to this...

For newcomers here's some great in-car footage from one of the favourites cars this year (Viper ACR Extreme) over one of the shorter stages (Sideling)...turn it up & enjoy;

Cheers for the heads up. Never heard of this event but have been watching loads of stuff on youtube since your post. What an amazing mix of cars! Seeing a Jensen CV8 up against a Lamborghini Huracan is something I never expected. Everything from 240Zs to Abarths, modern stuff & classics. Tasmania looks great too. Must start planning a road trip.

To give you an idea of how highly regarded Targa Tasmania is, Factory teams from Porsche & Mercedes have travelled here from Germany in past years bringing invaluable classics from their museums that never usually see the light of day to compete.
Many other manufacturers have factory backed entries competing each year too including Renaultsport Australia who have had great success over the past several years.
