Stupid question....can a 197 radio be tuned to an AM frequency?

Evening all,

very odd question but I tried getting the footy on 5 live during the week and have no idea how on earth you tune in an AM frequency. Always thought with renault head units you simply pressed src, but no joy here.

it's by pulling the little click wheel towards you while you've got radio on

Do you mean to select the AM frequency band, or fine tune to a specific frequency, i.e 1089, 909 etc?

SRC, or the up and down buttons on the steering wheel controls should let you cycle the various functions - FM, AM, AUX, CD etc.

Then once on AM, use the MODE button to select Manual Mode, then you can fine tune to the frequency you want, using the wheel, as Chris says.

Is that what you meant?

Yeh that's exactly it guys. Just trying to tune 693 or 909 for radio 5 live but when pressing src it just goes from fm or aux and that's it.
