Start up revs to 2k

Hi guys my 200 on start up has now decided to rev up to 2-2.5k and today did exactly that and then just died seconds after, but then started up again and now feels abit sluggish. Any idea on what this could be?

Nope nothing mate, it had been sat for around two weeks when it started happening but its still doing it.

Well it has to be fueling change in the air mixture so air leak or sensor down or missing which will show up with a diagnostic code but cutting out more likely a sensor or fuel pump failure or cutting out. A failed lambda can cause all sorts of problems but check vacuum pipes you have changed the manifold so the fueling can be messed up or went to a safe rich mixture which has caused this.

I thought fuel pump, is there any way of knowing for sure? When the manifold was changed we put a new lambda in as the old one was looking worse for wear that is coming up to be a year old, is it worth just buying a new one do you think? Along with a fuel pump?

Sounds like a vacuum leak. Check all the hoses onto the inlet manifold
