"Service Due" came up on the dash today, earlier than it had been suggesting but it's going to be my first service owning the car and from what I've read sounds like a biggy. 57 plate f1 approx 40K miles am I right thinking its time for a campbell change ??

If so what sort of price am I looking at inc labour etc. What other work might need carrying out ??

All help is appreciated, cheers in advance guys !!

All depends who does the cambelt change to be honest and what else you have done
Some have cambelt + Aux belt
Then as above + water pump(best time to have it done)
I personally bought all my genuine parts of Twingokeekio of here and had a Renault specialist do the work so did Luke off here for a fraction of the cost stealers charge
Steelers price £650-£1000+
Specialists £400-£500 depending we're you live
Hope this helps but try asking around

The service intervals should be 36K and then 48K not 40K, what was the mileage last time it was serviced cause if it was only 4K ago I wouldn't bother getting it done. However if it hasn't had it's 36K then it may cost abit as you'll need plugs in the service, plus your at the 5 year mark for your cam belt, and as Roy says get the aux belts and water pump done at the same time.

It will come up at 12 months if you haven't reached the mileage limit but this is your 5 year service so is time for cambelt and aux belt, get it done at a specialist to make sure its timed up properly afterwards

It was last service on 7/1/11 at 34k and I'm now on about 41ish but the "Service Due" lights on. Sorry for seeming like a dummy but just wanna get what I can done and not really skimp but tight for cash with it being just after Christmas at the moment.

Appreciate the help !!

Mine is an 07 and not had the cambelt yet, so I doubt yours is due unless you hit 60k by putting some serious mileage!

Should just be the standard 4 year service.

You deff need cambelt changed or your asking for trouble if you get your parts of Karl and get someone to fit them pref specialist save yourself a few quid

Cheers Roy, sorry to be a pain but what should I look at gettin from Karl then, Cambelt, Water Pump and Aux Belt is that everything, It's there any other bit I might need apart from any odd jobs that might need doin??

Yea like smiler said Karl will tell you
You don't need to have the water pump done but it does help because if it goes you have to buy all of it again the choice is yours
Have you got a place in mind to take it??
No one is ever a pain asking advice

Well I do have a mechanic (family friend) who I know will do a proper job etc however I was considering taking it to "Fred" but it's abit of a journey tbh. Any suggestions?

Ask locally see if there's any trained Renault mechanics started there own business
