Renault Clio RS 200 Track Car

At Finishline UK we're in the process of repairing and transforming this Renault Clio 200 Renaultsport into a track car!



So far we've managed to get in (the doors were locked, the battery was dead and the lock on the passenger side was broken), strip out the interior and now we can make a start on repairing the car!




This won't polish out



Once it's repaired we'll be fitting it with performance brake pads and GAZ Shocks.

We'll post more photos and details as things progress, feel free to ask any questions about it!

How ow easy will that damage be up repair?

Wouldn't bother with gaz shocks on these cars ok for low level club racing or if you want the slammed look standard Kyb cup shocks are fine for road and track even with slicks

I'm pretty sure Finishline are distributors for GAZ so will probably get them for next to nothing hence the choice. Looks like the car had a pretty big whack, either way it will be good fun once done! Best of luck with it guys

Sorry for the delayed reply guys! We've had a very busy few months. Good news is we've fully fixed the car and it has even been out on its first track day.
Gez, thanks for taking out the ebay link for us, we weren't sure! It wasn't too bad to repair, we just replaced the whole rear quarter and gave it a new door. AaronTRL you're quite right, we are a distributor of GAZ shocks.

We sent our Clio 200 out on its first outing on the 19th of March at Brands Hatch! We managed to snap a few photos of it out on track, and we think you'll agree it looks great now it's finished.
All of our customers absolutely loved it and if you fancy a go please get in touch, we host them regularly throughout the year!










We also sent out our two MG ZRs as well!

Thanks for the positive feedback! The car has a Safety Devices MSA specification roll cage fitted (specs here). People of all skill levels have a go on our track days Deaks and this was one of their first laps in the car, we got our own back later on! :thumbup: As we're a vehicle bodywork specialist we re-painted the car ourselves rather than apply a wrap to it!

Here's what you missed between the first photos and the car being on track (video of the rear quarter replacement coming soon!)

Here's the GAZ shocks we fitted (including custom top mounts):


Once we took off the rear quarter we found this damage!



We cut the damaged section out and welded in a new one:


Then we got to work painting the panels!



The interior was painted white and the outside primed:








Then it was time for the outside:









And finally, the finished article!

Have you done any work on matt paint cars?

Cheers! We've painted a couple of cars, but we mainly do matte paint on BMW motorbikes. Our Facebook page has loads of pictures of what's going on in the workshop.
