Remove this flap? Pros and Cons. Air Intake.

Looking at the front grille would removing the pictured flap improve cold air feed to the filter? Therefore improving the performance or is is blocked for a reason. I have a Ktec Induction Kit btw.

Couple of people on here have done it, guess it just stops water ect gong tinto the air filter. Ive got a ktec induction too so will be taking it off as well as the box behind it to get some better airflow.

It could improve on Ktec in fairness because it could "force" cold air into the area where the filter is positioned. On a closed filter like the standard one I doubt it will do a lot as the system sucks in cold air when needed and that flap does not block the air just debris. As Tree200 says its there to stop water and large bits getting into the standard induction set up With K-tec set up though it should be fine to remove. Can not do any harm.
