Remap - Where to go?

Everyone has their own opinions on which specialists are great and which aren't so great. But there is 101 threads on remaps and no simple, one stop solution to this - so....

Which tuning specialist is the best to go for?

Recommend one specialist and say why.
Inform us of one specialist you wouldn't recommend and say why.

Keep it simple, clean and informative please - I don't really want people arguing all over the thread until someone closes it, as with other tuning threads...

I'd take mine to rs tuning, a lot of people on here have taken there's to them, and only hear good results from rs tuning, so would have to be there tbh, wouldn't get a remap unless I'd of got ported inlets and maybe a little bit more work.

Would like a remap though, because sometimes 197s and 200s can run well down on power (not sure why??) and then they get a map to suit there car.

RS Tuning for me,as said in PFC mag this month, what paul doesn't know about tuning isn't worth knowing, good honest results, didn't he used to right the maps for Ktec and others anyway?

Tdf- hes closer than rs tuning and he uses rs tunings maps, and matt knows hes stuff, any running problems and he guve you advise etc.

tbf tom its either rs tuning, ktec, tdf, jamsport, jms (sorry cant remember the new name) as they specialise in renaultsports, wouldnt really trust anywhere else as ive heard other tuners tuning clios up and they end up over/under fueling.

I haven't done any engine work yet but it's really weird, Ktec also deals with loads of Renault sports, I've never ever heard/read any negative reviews from their customers, apparently they spend loads of money on marketing (even their website is ages ahead from the other tuners), they are very reputable so I wouldn't of thought that they tell/do porkies but yet no one in here would recommend them. Any reasons why people? Out of curiosity...

Btw, the vast majority vote for RS tuning, if I was about to go for a remap I'd choose them Tom, easy decision I guess:smile:

says it all for me when people are buying other peoples maps, straight to the man who knows in leeds, its a no brainer!

Tdf are quite respectable company, matts knowledge is vast. The reason why he uses rs tuning maps is because machine used to match up the checksums of the origanal map to the new map costs tens of thousands of pounds, and matt doesnt do enough clios a year to warrant the machine, so uses pauls maps and tweeks them.

good point...

Thanks everyone. RST or TDF seem like the obvious choice! Awesome advice - cheers.

I've actually heard a fair few bad things regarding ktec TBH...
