Recaro Bolsters R27/ 200

Anyone had their R27 repaired OUT of warranty for the drivers bolster-

If it was ripped-

how much did it cost?

You dont get it reclothed, they give you a new seat base which is already upholstered.

Its £150 for the 200 recaro bases, keep an eye out on eBay though. I just bought 2 for £50.

Absolutely - just a case of getting some matching material

Top comes as cloth from renault. Base comes as whole thing. Dunno about the price though.

Are you sure? I saw a backrest that was complete with foam, single part.

That's what ren customer services told me... i wouldn't take it as gospel until I saw it with my own eyes!

I bought a spare cover from someone off here, comes with the foam lining too

If you go to a trimmers, you could probably get the foam replaced with something harder, on the bolsters this would probably be a very good idea.

That was a repair? Did the guy use tougher foam?

yes- I budgeted at a guess 175- -but when I picked the car up the seat base bolster was showing the usual signs of wear as well-

The seat looks brand new now -- at least I know what the cost is approx now they are coming out of warranty-

I still dont get why people accept this as wear & tear - especially on sub 20k cars
