Private plates

Was just having a quick look on the DVLA. Website for a plate for my FF197 (have found two that are relevant for me) but while on the have also found a good few that start RS## CUP from £499 to £799

Just thought I would let you guys and gals know in case anyone with a cup is looking for a plate ?

Waste of money in my opinion, especially one for the car you have now.
Seems strange me saying it as I have one....

I love my private plate, finishes the car off I think.

Mines for the car ' *200CUP' mine is. Worth buying IMO

I've got one related to the car, was a valentines gift off the wife.

Get plenty of comments on it, all of which have been positive.

It's personal opinion really, some will say it's a waste of time some will like it!
I have a personal one on my 197 should really change it to my 225 seen as the 197 will never see the road again!

Mind im only a bit bitter about mine through changing my car so often, it's been on 11 cars in 8 years - retention free total around £1200

I'd buy one if i found a decent one that came close to spelling my surname, I'd never buy one relating to the car though it's a bit pointless imo

Private plates are an acquired taste, many like the idea of them and for others they will never appeal.
ive had/got a good many, for me I love them and I probably always will.

The one I have found for myself (never had one before) is personal to me and not relevant to the car and is only £250 so I am really tempted . It's my initials LT 06 my birthdate and NOV the month i was born LT06 NOV .

Nearly bought one for the last bike I had L33 RRW but was only really relevant for that model so I didn't bother

Some people say that they are tacky but personally I like the individuality. I was looking for something with 197 in or RED or both but I think it's a great idea.

I don't understand putting a plate on a car that ages it so to speak, like sticking a 02 plate on a 2005 car.

I have F134 LEE pretty self explanatory

Snap it up

i have a few in my/our collection, I've always been partial to a plate.

A 16V KH, Purchased when I first passed my test 20 odd years back.
K12 COS, actually came on my first escos and registered with it from the day it left the factory, it's since been on 3 other Escort Cosworths of mine over the years.
K12 FRS, bought to go on the Focus RS next to the Escos.
K16 BUB, on the misses car, she was 16 when we met (many years ago) and has ever since been my little bub, so it works for her.
T16 PHY, on the Trophy track car, only purchased for a bit of fun really.
K400 WRC, purchased to go on the tow car when I had the 2nd Escos that was built up to be purely a track car, it looked quite nice having that plate on the tow vehicle with the Escos on the trailer to/from events.

K being for my name, 12 being the day of the month I was born, and the last part just a little attachment to each car.

Good thing about the Regd is that if I change car (which I don't intend to soon as I'm loving the 197) it is relevant to me and not the car
