Piston rewind tool (yes, yes another one)

Right i was just going to buy a normal single one off amazon for £20 or so when i found these.

for the same price? any thoughts?

I'm thinking the top one as it gives a little more detail although appears the same all be it in a blue not red case and is a better long term investment for the same price.

are renault calipers left or right hand thread?

when i did my vivaro van (pretty much same calipers as the clio) im sure they were right handed

i would them in with pliars but will buy a tool for my clio pad change

i thought they were right handed but the description says the left handed one is for renault

clio 197/200 and megane 225 etc have wind back clockwise pistons (right-hand)

I found this out the hard way when first changing my rear pads, Could I **** get the piston to go back..... Took me a good hour to work it out... Doh

Isn't clockwise the obvious choice? Most threaded things you turn clockwise to tighten?

renaults used to be left handed though so if you buy a renault specific tool (like the link i posted) it will be wrong for the 197/200.

i definitely remember my vivaro being right handed too

i used pliars and a g clamp to press and turn the caliper piston on my vivaro but dont want to damage the red paint on my clio brakes so will get the tool!

left-handed items are more likely fitted to commercial vehicles than cars etc

its a bit misleading when most tools specific for renault are left handed. its never easy with a clio 197/200!

its probably due to the change of brake to trw for rear calipers...

The ones i posted have both left and right tools!!!

I also tried the left hand tool for around 30 mins before trying the right.
