Anybody any idea what to paint thickness is like on our 200's. Did a quick search but no joy, soon applying Gtechniq's new coating but was considering a full correction detail too, but car doesn't really need as only a year old, however if paint thickness good I might aswell

Every car will be different so you really need a PTG to check yours

Also, pearlescent paint is usually thicker than standard metallic because it usually requires more coats of paint to give the pearl look.

My albi blue reads between 130 - 160 microns if that is any help (factory original).

Paint thickness (generally) is pretty good on these cars but don't forget it is the top layer of lacquer you need to worry about and unless you invest £££ in a paint thickness gauge which can tell you the thickness of each layer of lacquer/ paint/ primer, etc. you won't get the full picture

As a general guide though PTG's such as Paint Detective will tell you removal rates when machine polishing. There's still a bit of informed guess work involved though.
