OBD socket fuse

So I'm having some issues with my abs light and have a Bluetooth obd adapter but it gets no power from the socket for some reason.

I've tried it in my mates car and it comes in straight away!!

So was wondering if anybody knows ig there is a fuse for the obd socket?

its not fused....its the way the hands free system puts the ignition on...

do a search theres a thread about how to force the system ignition on

I've had a search and seen how you put the ignition on by unlocking, putting key card in the slot, holding start until all the lights come on but still doesn't seem to give any power to the obd reader unless I'm not doing it right?

I've just found another obd reader so I'll try that one.

But dies that mean you cannot retrieve live data from the obd if you have to do the ignition sequence?

Just tried my other one and it powered up straight away!!! How strange, must have been an adapter not compatible with the 197 for some reason!

Which reader did & did not work so we know what not to buy?

This was the one that didn't work which I got from eBay:

And this one worked which I also got from eBay:

which fuse?

if another obd reader was used and it worked then it cant be fused...must be the protocol its using

pin 16 is 12v feed

In this case it clearly wasn't the fuse, for the reason you stated; however, a blown fuse was the issue for me.
