New R27 owner and a couple of questions

Ive been lurking around asking some questions but I am now an owner of a 39k mile Racing Blue R27 F1.

Very happy with the car, I nearly walked away from it as the last service was carried out by the guy I bought the car from so not full Renault history but all the receipts were there for oil/filters and plugs and the owner who did the work turned out to be an aircraft technician so I should probably have some faith in his work.

I also had the car inspected at Renault who confirmed it was a very good car.

Im going to get the car serviced at Renault in Coulsdon, anyone dealt with those guys?

Ive had a few RS Clios before including a Trophy, mainly for track days and a bit of fun. I also have been a Porsche addict for 10 years and love old German cars.

So the questions that I have are... my seat fabric on the recaros is coming away at the rubber lining where it fits the seat plastic, not worn but seems to have come loose. Is this repairable?

Where can I get the steering wheel retrimmed?

The plastic wing mirror seams to be a slightly different shade of blue to the main bodywork, did these cars have problems with fading paint on plastics? I probably need a good detailer in Surrey. Any recommendations?

Cheers!

Welcome.
yes repairable, i is a known problem, to fix the side bottom part should be less than £100. im in NW london and looking for someone to do this to.
fading mirrors i not heard of that before.
where in the country are you?

oh and welcome.

if you need a good detailer, one of my closest friends who i share my unit with does exactly this, he is a perfectionist and details every car as tho it were his own.
he looks after all of our cars, and i have no shadow of worry in recommending him.

hes just outside surrey tho, and our unit where he would do the work is in Copthorne.
if you went to him, your car would be tucked nicely away with the other toys in there, including 2 saph cossies, a 3dr cossie, a escort cossie, a clio trophy, a clio R27, and possibly an EVO 8 if its not sold by then.

^^handy to know Kelv. What's he charge? I need a major correction detail on my car along with a front bumper respray :worried:

As he says, every quote is different as every car and owners requirements differ, from a quick winter protection to a 4 day full detail including engine bay, under arches etc.

If you let me know a bit more detail of what you want, i can atleast get a vague idea of cost from him.
but again, it can vary even dependant on what wax/polish options you choose.
hes got some fancy Swiss Wax's that come in such fancy presentation boxes, and cost a small fortune which i would cringe at paying for, lol.

Just asked a mate who had a wheel done by Snappy a few months back, he's given me the details.

contact Andy (Snappy) on 07960 413706

I had mine retrimmed by him (upgraded the Cup wheel to a proper 197 wheel)

One of the best mods ive done really changed the feel of the car.

He's a great guy too, I had a nose at what he does when i dropped my wheel off as he's only 20 mins away

Mine was the first MK3 wheel he had worked on.
