New 197 owner...

We just put a deposit down on the car here;

http://www.imc-bmw.com/details.cfm?carID=750&ID=2501&noofim=9

It's having a service and check over, seems to be only a ball joint to be replaced at the front.

Does anyone know the history of this vehicle, seems straight to me, but then I've not had time to do a lot of research.

Seems to have aftermarket wheels and exhaust, maybe a dob of red on the calipers :smile:

David.

looks like its got a miltek exhaust amd brakes painted. The wheels are standard, they just been refurbed black.

Thanks Ryan. I hadn't considered that the wheels had been refurbished.

Were Brembo calipers an option on these, I can't find any 'official' information online about standard and optional parts.

:welcome: to the site dude!

Brembos are standard on 197's :w00t:

You have a good example there too, best colour :wink:

welcome to the site david.

brembos are standard but look like they have been painted red as cant see brembo wrighting on them.

As mentioned Brembo's are standard but in silver finish, apart from cars which had the optional cup chassis or were a cup model then they came with red calipers.
I had mine painted red then got Brembo decals off ebay to complete the look, get yourself some about 100mm long iirc.

Thanks for all the welcome messages.

I'll have to take another look but the calipers on this car look more mono-block than cast with the usual double pot Brembo look. The dealer reckons they are standard issue so I'll take a look later in the week.

Anyway, here's some links to some earlier modes of transport whilst living in Australia, top down, the Rover was sold just a few weeks back.
