I've not heard of this done but wouldnt mind giving it a go if someone knows how - do you know where you could get hold of a wiring diagram?

the cup racer or rally car must have some adjustment like this, so it should be possible somehow

driver preference i guess, e.g. i've heard some people always take the power steering out of their cars for the extra feel...

i would quite like to be able to change things like brake bias on the fly tbf, and in winter it'd be nice to be able to have a bit more control of when things like the abs cut in... it just gives you a bit more customization on your car i guess

Adjusting settings that Renault spent millions in research and developement to get the perfect balance for every situation. Perhaps on the track if you know what your doing there may be benefits to such minor adjustments.

Any settings are a compromise; blended for very varied conditions, driver abilities and preferences.

This forum is pushed forwards by people wanting to 'fiddle' and try new things, Renault spent millions on (for e.g.) the suspension, which arguably is the most important (for either car control or the clio's character) system on the vehicle, and how many people have altered this for 'better', yet much cheaper setups?

hehe, np... same to you though in that it's doubtful that anyone will ever make it 'better', but it'd be fun to give it a bash... might even learn something useful lol.

so... any idea where you'd start?

I know these modern day electric assisted steering control units can be 'remapped' to offer different weights at varying speeds etc. Perhaps it may be the case with renaults?

Interesting idea! My steering is very heavy opposite to my friends cars. The car feels like is 2 ton and is ok on open roads but in city when maneuvering most of the time i have to use both hands. Certainly doesn't feel like expensive steering most likely half job by Renault specialists.
