Lets get low !

Right just thinking about things at the moment .

Car looks jacked up and although im not modding it yet im thinking something must be done.

I had a 197 with V3's on before and that was amazing and smoother thn the horrid ride of cup suspension on normall driving but if it was nto for a member on here giving me the settings i would have been lost

so with regards to getting it low whats the general concesious on lowering springs ? waste of time ? ruin the cup chassis ? not the proper thing to do ?

any help appreciated

noodie you had coilovers and went back whats your thoughts etc

I use the H&R -35mm/-40mm Springs with the Cup Dampers, handles superbly and is a definite improvement over the FF setup I had originally.

Yes it's stiff, but it's not uncomfortable. Although I appreciate that's a matter of opinion.

I'd leave it standard for now if your only doing it for looks. Springs would be a waste of time and money if your eventually going to change to coilovers.

Think of the current height as being purposeful, which it is.

Yeh i dont mind coilovers its not the £££ that put me off coilovers its the set up that scares me .

Ps always nice to here from you Mark.

Get coilovers when your bored and find a rally specialist near you and leave the car with him, let him do the height and all the rest and you'll have nothing to worry about. Thats what i done and just fiddled with the stiffness for track days.

Im car less just now :worried: (well I've got the choice of transit vans but they're no fun) What happened to your vxr ? id have had that car off you.

Yes i guess thats the way forward . to be honest im trying my hardest to keep the car standard as possible its nice after spending so much money on the vxr each month the bank balance is going up not doing anything but put fuel in the clio so im happy as a pig in . . .

although the lack of power is becoming tiresome will look at the 265 when the price drops 2nd hand but i really wanted to stay away from turbos for the now.

the red one is 300bhp same spec as mine cage etc .

the vxr went mad 2.5k brakes mapping etc etc all got a bit much and it was so i took so many spares to track days just incase they would not all fit in the vxr . so it had to go wanted something to get to the ring and back without hastle and pound round etc etc then just drive home road tyres etc etc although some track wheels would be megga but for now its ok.

I know how you feel, turbos are to tempting to tune and i think ill need to invest my money in a house to save me from buying something silly . I keep trying to talk Lisa into getting the garrett turbo upgrade for her 500 but she's not having it.

I think the 250's prices will drop again before summer, there some brilliant spec'd 250's for ~£16k

Keep the clio standard it'll be less of a pita when your going to change it plus yours is so nice especially with the leather etc.

I can always supply the settings again matey

I'd go for KW Clubsport myself, comes with adjustable top mounts!

Thats hardcore modding

Clubsports are a proper track work set up

any 200's with them ?

Not yet. Richy200 bought them but they wouldnt fit his car (They havent brought out a set for the revised suspension 200s).

We still have our coilies though have had them raised to be more "sensible height". Emma uses the car every day and was getting fed up of having to drive over speed bumps a particular way etc etc.

Once she stops using it every day though. Clubsports will be getting bought and the car given to said Rally specialist Mark was taking about.

Why don't you get the v3's like u sold to me? 7/4 all round, bang job done  then get someone else to fit, set height and geo?

currently running H&R 30/40's + cup shocks +16mm spacers and i find it spot on handling wise, just wish it was a tad lower tbh,V3's and 25mm spacers looks stunning, but thats my cosmetic outlook
