Lamda sensor plug for decat pipe

I have the light on my dash, has anyone fitted one of these blanking plugs and removed the sensor? Does this work it helped on my mates civic but obviously not the same ECU help????
 
Don't remove the sensor.

Just buy a spacer to put between the pipe and the Lambda...
