K-tec Map

The crackle map doesn't actually dump any more fuel into the exhaust than it otherwise would. I think the ignition is just changed marginally to ignite it at the best point for 'popping'. The map also doesn't affect performance in anyway.

I'm sure RSTuning could offer something similar to save you driving all the way down to K-Tec.

with both cats out you won't need a crackle map, trust me

Mine is decat with no centre silencer. When you rev it at standstill you would think it had the crackle map. Scott, there is a guy on here (Bentley) that just had both cats removed and crackle map and now it flames!

How come? That's ruined my pal if this is true!

I'm getting my centre silencer removed and a remap at RS Tuning on Monday.
When I asked about the crackle map they said it would only work properly if both cats were removed.
I'm guessing the teeny bit of fuel that gets dumped gets soaked into the cat and this kind of dampens the pop.

Could be wrong though, I'm no engineer.

The crakles and pops are more evident on over-run instead of standstill 'free revving'

mine pops and bangs and has both cats still in...

the cats also act as a type of sound damper as well - like turbos do

alot of the noise and pops bangs is from the fuel being switched on and off when on/off the throttle

and mr hendersons doesnt so much as pop as explodes :jump1:
