197: It all comes at once

So I've had a rather crap month with my car.

First off apologies if this is in the wrong place. Need to vent whilst the car is finally being put right (I hope)

Had it serviced, which is par for the course.
Over the course of the service a few things where found. Some weren't right, some where.
Front brake pads and front tyres. Already had the pads so I knew them. Tyres I was aware needed changing as they were low.
something I didn't know, snapped spring. So brought some suspension and got my brake pads fitted within days. Changed the drivers side front spring no problem, got to the passenger side and the driveshaft had seized in. I half expected issues with seized brake pins, not the drive shaft :worried:
Mad hunt around for one but got one.

A few days ago came out to the car after work to find the windscreen had cracked. Great. Getting that sorted tomorrow.
Decided to try and bond with the car again and give it a clean.
It looked really good afterwards.

came out from work yesterday and it had been used as target practice for birds. It was everywhere.
Majority of it cleaned off fine but the biggest bit (pretty sure it came from something the size of a dog) had ate into the lacquer on my bonnet.
Now going to pay to have it detailed/machine polished to try and improve that bit.

I'm also due to buy a new drivers side fog light as that got smashed by a stone. I've recently had to replace the rain sensor on the windscreen as well. At least that I could do myself.

Some pictures of the car I'm in a love/hate relationship at the moment

That really is a run of bad luck, the only way to look at it is next week can't be any worse.

Although in your last picture the splitter looks a bit worse for wear.

Best of luck correcting everything.

Renaultsports bring love and pain in equal measure.

splitter has indeed seen better days but I'm hoping to get the valance for it when the bills stop pouring in.

Hopefully that's your run of bad luck over..on the bright side I'm loving the front diamond.

I'm hoping so to. Think ill have a nervous breakdown if anything else goes wrong now.

thanks. It's the same the interior/pillars and door badges are wrapped in

Ergh what hassle! Hope its all perfect again soon.

Car is looking great in the pics, AB does come up very very well with a good clean

It's always the way. I've always had older cars, mainly hot hatches. Treat myself to a nice 07' 197 three weeks ago, and I've had 2 snapped springs, a spark plug fall apart and now what looks like a broken tappet. I hope next week is better!

is it tapping on the same cylinder the plug broke on....

Really nice colour, it's come up well. Shocked at the size of the mark on the bonnet - have you tried any polish (SRP) on it?

I'm been told to try a few things which I will but I think it'll need machine polishing to get it off really.
it really annoyed me as I'd literally washed and waxed it the previous night.
ive tried washing it a few times. Also WD40 on a bit of tissue which fades it slightly. It's now hard to see in sunlight or at night. It's when you look at it from the side in shade. Stands out a mile.

All done now though. Just windscreen tomorrow and tyres next week (fingers crossed)

Cool that's not to bad at all.

Well just had my 4th piece of rotten luck (mum, then my op, the car) now my dog has a lump and is in need of an operation to remove it and her insurance expired last month whilst I was in hospital. I now have to find £320.

still things could be worse.
