200: Insurance roulette time again

Bloody pain aint it, trying to explain you have a clio 200 with cup chassis but its not a cup.

Anyway, with no claims protected, £150 excess, courtesy car, legal cover it looks like we have a winner. Mainly cause i can't be arsed speaking to any more mongs.

Age, Beauty and reasonable priced insurance to boot.

Tried Sky insurance? I know they are a sponsor of ClioSport forum, unsure if they are on here. I've struggled to get insurance on my first 172 with my wife on the policy, but Sky gave me an unbeatable price. So much so that I've stayed with them for 2 other cars.

not tried sky or greenlight yet, i got fed up with answering the same questions over, and over........

Went with admiral multi car this year, paying for it tonight. Dropped from £1300 to £500 plus i get 2 years NCB instead of one (providing i dont crash in the next year)

Admiral wanted £996! And that was with a bogo 200 not including cup chassis, cup spoiler and sticker pack which threw a fit when I tried to add them.

Just tried Churchill and they want 292 for the meg but need to ring for a multicar quote to add the 200.

Took my 20 mins to see it said I need to ring for multicar.

Think I'll try a couple of other companies before I stop spinning and choose the best quote that suits my needs.

If I up the excess to £350 on both cars with aviva it drops it too £415! So that may be worth a gamble. 3 year old Clio 200 & a year old 265 trophy for £207.50 each. Doubt anyone will beat that.

I put a call into Greenlight to inform them that the Nitrous is off the car and in its place Meg engine, declared all the little extras like the ktec induction kit, larger intercooler, larger boost pipes and also said I plan to put larger injectors in so would like it rated at 300bhp..

And the cost.......

Just a £25 admin charge, no increase in premium, now that's a phone call full of win.

Haha, off the cuff I asked them about engine swaps and they weren't 100% sure if it was within the spirit of the 'free mods' thing they seem to do. Seems it is!

When I added the Nitrous my premium was loaded by £50. So I guess its a trade off really.

Simon: have you tried the specialist insurers to see if they are cheaper.

No not yet, I just tried the main ones but I will on Friday but not sure any do multicar?

Lowest has been £415 for both upto £1369!

Some clearly want and others don't want your business. Something I don't like is some sites give you upto 9 years no claims but others only 5+ years which my current does. Therefor I have no way of proving 9 years so can only put 5 which increases the premium.

fantastic

2 no fault claims really have an effect on mine i guess.
I'm 23 with 1 no fault against me and the only insurer who didn't whack my insurance up was Direct line, I don't see how or why it should even effect the person not at fault.

That's incredible aha!

I can't wait for the day when my insurance drops to sub £300, currently paying £695 :worried:

Problem with that is if you tell your insurance that you are a Nun and they find out your really a human cannonball then they have an excuse not to pay out
