Hi....New to 197.net and Renault!

Hi,

Just bought my first Renault ever, a Clio 197.

Been looking around for something small, sporty, quick and a bit special, and the 197 certainly seems to fit the bill. Only had the car about 3 weeks so still getting used to it and enjoying it.

Mines a 2008 which has just done about 22k miles and I'm getting it in for a service with a Renaultsport specialist dealer at Bury St Edmunds to give a it good going over to make sure all is well.

Looks like I'm going to need new brake pads on the rear very soon, and then soon after on the front, but I'll try and source these and fit myself to save a few pennies after the purchase and service!

Love the site, had a good read and learnt quite a bit from you guys already.

Couple of pics below to show off the new toy!!

Hi Guys and thanks for your comments.

Nice to have such a welcoming and informative place to research any issues I have with the car. Already answered a few questions that I couldn't bottom out from reading the manuals, so I'm very grateful for that.

Found the fact that I couldn't end phone calls on hands free bluetooth particularly frustrating, meaning I had to take my phone out my pocket to end it.....which kinda defeats the object really. Manual didn't help answer this as it showed the wrong button as the call end/cancel function. Sure enough someone here has posted a thread on how to do it....perfect!

Hope I will be able to contribute something to help you guys at some point to.

All the best.

Welcome fella!!!

You end the calls on the handsfree by pulling the round disc aka station select dial...towards you! Hope you understand what I mean :'(

Welcome, also fairly new to the Renault scene, so far loving everything about the car...apart from the MPG but hey, you only live once

Yeah, MPG could be better but hey...something's gotta give eh!

Think I'm getting about 27mpg on average on the computer. Worked the last tank of fuel out manually and it actually was 28.13mpg, so not too bad really. A fair bit of town and open road mixed up in there.

I'm using the Tesco Momentum 99 unleaded and they reckon you get a few more miles per tank. Not too sure about that but it seems to make it run smoother than what was in it when I first had it.

Have to say I just love the lines on this car, a real stunner from every angle... find myself washing it every 5 minutes just so as I can look at it.... a bit sad I know - but it's keeping it clean at least.

Welcome to the site. Your car is looking great! I am really liking those black wheels. Was it my thread about the bluetooth that helped you? I found it really frustraiting until someone on the Independent Renault forum who worked for Renault told me how it actually works!

Hi Arranshuker,

Yes, it was thanks to you that I finally resolved the call ending problem. Thanks to your post I have managed to retain some hair and dignity after much frustration and bewilderment on the driveway!!
