Welcome to the site Andrew. Where abouts are you based? I'm sure with your location someone could recommend a Renault specialist nearby.

Welcome along Andrew. Yeah there are a few dotted around the country as DS197 says. Let us know where you are.

Welcome along. There are plenty of people on here with a lot of knowledge about these cars, ask a few questions and someone might be able to help

Thanks guys was a member on a forum with my Megane 225. And found it very helpful I'm in Eastwood Nottingham only just bought this car yesterday and have got a few issues that are worrying me but do love the style of the car be nice to link up with someone who can help would also join the site fully

Hi my concerns are batt light comes on and says stop. But guy who I bought it of says he swapped the battery which I can see he done and alternator but still does this just switch ingniton of then back on gets rid of it he's told me to do. Dosnt effect the car in the running. Then didn't see this to today seem like some oil on top of gearbox and its def gearbox oil as can smell it. But all gear change absolutely fine but a concern. Then some knocking noise underneath the car front end I think. It's also could be the exhaust as it a straight through de cat with Tokyo manifold. But the manifold twists so I was told making a knocking noise only when pulling of tho due to engine movement but do think the exhaust is catching else where but like someone to take a look over the car and see where it's at might be me but think might have a pup on my hands here

1. Manifold moving requires possible "relief" of subframe to stop knocking..and deffo some Powerflex engine mounts to reduce the movement. Not a huge issue.....

2. Gearbox Oil: Wash; decontaminate and keep a close eye on to trace any further leaks. All you can do at this stage.

3. Hook a scanner to get any fault codes for the warning lights. You can buy an OBD2 port reader for as little as £10 or £12 on ebay

Good luck.

Thanks Sevenfourate not that I'm a mechanic would def be needing someone in my area to do or take a look at it. Is there any local meets in the Nottingham area for Clio sports owners happening soon at all

Not sure of any meets that have been arranged on this forum, however I believe there are some RS groups on Facebook that may have meets going on.

If Midlands Renault are a bit far for you, another option that might be better is Bolsover Car Care? Just off the M1 in Derbyshire - RS specialists and very helpful, I've used them a couple of times.

Don't write it off as a bad car just yet though - it is a worry when you find faults, but none of them 'sound' particularly major.

Thanks jimmyd81 are they still going at bolsover took my Megane 225 there for the dreaded pivot joints just new bearings they did a great job. Think it was a guy called mark black not sure been bed since then got good rates as well as was on Megane forum when I had it quite a few years back now. Will have to pop it over as mate lives just up the road

Yeah as far as I know they're still going at Bolsover. Mark Black has left now and he is the one at Midlands Renault. I can't remember the name of the other guy that's at BCC, he was great with me when I went both times. I mentioned this forum too and they honoured a deal that had been sent up in the past by a member on here.
